Ich muss morgen um 5:30 aufstehen (argh), weil wir nach Berlin fliegen (YAY!!!).
Jedenfalls werd’ ich dementsprechend bis Samstag nicht wirklich bloggen.

P.S.: Könnte aber auch sein, dass ich einfach bei Hugendubel (aka Best Bookshop EVAH) einziehe. In dem Fall könnt ihr mich alle besuchen kommen – ich bin dann vermutlich im 3. Stock, auf einem der Sofas, mit einem Grinsen, das noch breiter ist als das Buch vor meinem Gesicht.

Reviews are FUN!!!
I try to avoid reading movie reviews before seing the actual movie.
Instead, I go see it, and then afterwards I read the reviews and have a great time deciding whether the reviewer is right or wrong. (More than half the time, they’re wrong*.)
Still…I’ve just been browsing Roger Ebert’s archives for hours. It is now way past my bedtime, but it was worth it. Soooo worth it.
For the record, Ebert isn’t wrong as often as his colleagues (he liked „The Cell“, for instance), but he still gets it wrong on occasion (I don’t actually know what’s worse … liking „The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor“, or admitting to liking „The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor“). But regardless of whether or not he gets it right, his reviews are always well written and funny as hell. Seriously…go browse. Here’s a gem to get you started.

Thursday’s Theme

Was war der größte Vorteil an meinem Orange-Handy in England? „Orange Wednesdays“
„Orange Wednesdays“ bedeutet für Orange-Kunden jeden Mittwoch zwei Kinokarten zum Preis von einer. Es war herrlich.
Und diese beste aller Handynetz-Aktionen hat es jetzt über den Ärmelkanal geschafft. Durch die Zeitverschiebung (und die beim Kino übliche Verzögerung zwischen England und Österreich) wurde daraus „Orange Kino Donnerstag“.
Zwar gilt es (noch) nicht für jedes Kino (wie in England), aber zumindest zwei von den dreien, die mir persönlich wichtig sind.
Wie gesagt…Yay :)

Home Alone – Part Deux
I just started watching Stargate Atlantis on DVD. Let me tell you…there is something to be said for watching sci-fi (meaning, in this particular case, lots of explosions and things that go „Kawoosh!!!“) with a proper sound system without disturbing anybody. Especially if there’s popcorn. And cider.
Bliss.
One thing that’s intriguing, though, is that MGM felt the need to include a promo trailer for the Stargate Atlantis DVDs on the Stargate Atlantis DVDs (and it’s before the menu, so I can’t even skip it). Preaching to the choir, much?

Weird
My mum just left on holiday, so I’ll be alone with the cat until Thursday.
It’s been ages since I’ve been all on my own for this long, so it feels a bit weird. But I expect to get over this soon. I’ll probably be dancing on the living room table in my underwear, singing into my hairbrush.
Unless my plans are thwarted by my new pills. (Yeah, I got new pills. They’re yellow.) So far, they have made me sick at inconvenient moments („Let’s go shopping!“ „Yeah, sure…urgh…no, wait“ *runs off*). But according to the little piece of paper that came with the pills, I might also experience pain in my testicles.*
I imagine it’s hard to rock with aching testicles.
*Question: Why don’t I ever get anything with cool potential side-effects? It’s always nausea, sweating, dry mouth, increased/decreased blood-pressure, seizures… That’s no fun. I want pills that could turn my skin purple, or my hair curly, or my eyes green. Just saying.
