Ich hab’ mir endlich Google Reader zugelegt.
Und gleich mal so ungefähr alles abonniert, was mir eingefallen ist.
(Und ich bin noch lange nicht fertig – har har har)

Und dann alles geordnet, und einige von den Sachen gelesen.

Und dann noch ein bisschen weitergelesen.

Und plötzlich war es 5 Uhr früh und ich hatte noch nicht geschlafen.

Vor ein paar Monaten ist mir in einem Geschäft ein Buch aufgefallen.
Das Cover hat mich magisch angezogen.
Der Blurb hat mich interessiert.
Nachdem ich die erste Seite angelesen hatte wollte ich am liebsten gleich gar nicht mehr aufhören.

Das Buch war (natürlich) auf Englisch, und eine Neuerscheinung, also war es eine von diesen riesigen Paperback-Editionen, die nicht nur soviel kosten wie ein Hardcover, sondern auch genausoviel Platz am Bücherregal wegnehmen.
Da Letzteres bei mir (im Gegensatz zu Ersterem) chronisch überfüllt ist (man könnte mir da einen ursächlichen Zusammenhang unterstellen, aber das wäre einfach nur gemein), habe ich mich also zurückgehalten.

Jawohl, so unglaublich es klingen mag, ich habe das Buch NICHT gekauft. (Ja, ich bin auch überrascht.)
Stattdessen bin ich jedesmal, wenn ich in einem Buchgeschäft mir englischen Büchern war, daran vorbei gegangen, habe es liebevoll gestreichelt und ihm ganz fest versprochen, dass wir bald zusammen sein werden.

Es ist also klar, was auf meiner Wunschliste für Weihnachten ganz oben stand.

Vor ein paar Tagen trug sich dann folgendes zu:

Mutter: Das Buch da auf deiner Liste?
Ich: (mit gierig glänzenden Augen) Jaaaa?
Mutter: Das gibt’s noch gar nicht.
Ich: Huh?
Mutter: Das gibt’s noch nicht. Es erscheint erst im Jänner.
Ich: Aber ich hab’s doch schon vor Wochen gesehen. Ich hab’s in der Hand gehabt. Ich hab reingelesen!!!
Mutter: Da musst du dich vertan haben. Es erscheint erst im Jänner. Amazon weiß sowas.

Und genau in solchen Momenten, wenn sie am dringendsten gebraucht werden, planschen Mulder und Scully mit einem kleinen Boot irgendwo in der Karibik herum. War ja klar.

Schnee! Schnee! Schnee! Schnee! Schnee! SCHNEE!!!

Endlich. Jetzt ist Winter. Jetzt muss ich keine Punschstandln mehr hassen und keine Weihnachtsdekoration mehr ignorieren. Weil durch den Schnee jetzt alles endlich seine Daseinsberechtigung hat.

Schnee macht glücklich.

Schnee macht sogar noch glücklich, wenn man darin herumtanzt und zu spät daran denkt, dass man die Stiefel nach langen Monaten in der Besenkammer vielleicht hätte impregnieren sollen.
Oder wenn man abends im Schneegestöber ewig auf den Bus wartet, der zu spät kommt, weil es Schnee stöbert.
Oder wenn man sich im böigen Wind plötzlich doch nach dem Schal sehnt, der noch vor fünf Minuten so unnötig schien.

So, last night, I had this dream.
I dreamt that I woke up in my bed a little after 2am and couldn’t go back to sleep.
Eventually, I gave up, got dressed and went shopping. Food shopping, to be exact.
The person working at the supermarket till was Neil Gaiman. We talked a bit, he laughed at me for doing my shopping at such an hour. Then we talked about England, and whether I wanted to go back there.
Needless to say, Neil Gaiman was fun to talk to. But then Gwyneth Paltrow showed up, smiled a lot, and pulled him away with her. So I went back home and unpacked my shopping.

And then, I woke up and couldn’t go back to sleep.
It was a little after 2am.
To be honest, if I had been in a town (or even in a country) where it’s possible to go food shopping at 2am, I would have been out of bed in an instant.

Als Versuch mein Hirn wieder in Gang zu bringen habe ich mich gestern bei einem Lernhilfe-Institut als Nachhilfelehrerin für Englisch und Deutsch beworben. Die Frau am Telefon war total nett, hat gemeint ich soll einen 1-seitigen Lebenslauf schicken, und sie ruft mich dann wegen eines Kennenlerntermins nächste Woche an.

So weit, so gut.
Ich übersetze also brav meinen Lebenslauf (hatte nur einen englischen auf Lager…schaut mir wieder ähnlich) und schicke ihn gestern noch ab.

Heute klingelt mein Handy:

Sie: Hallo, ich hab’ grad’ Ihren Lebenslauf vor mir und ich wollt’ fragen wann Sie Zeit haben.
Ich: Eigentlich immer. Wann passt’s Ihnen denn am besten?
Sie: Ich hätt’ Sie für morgen nachmittag gleich eingeteilt, wenn das möglich wäre.
Ich: Ähm…ok. Zeit hab’ ich schon, ist also kein Problem.
Sie: Toll, das wären dann 2 Schülerinnen aus der 3. HAK, und die brauchen hauptsächlich Grammatik.
Ich: Ok, wär das für Deutsch oder Englisch?
Sie: Französisch.
Ich: *schluck* Französisch?! Davon war aber eigentlich nicht die Rede…
Sie: Aber auf Ihrem Lebenslauf steht, dass Sie fließend Französisch sprechen…
Ich: *facepalm* Ähm…ja…das stimmt schon so, aber ich hab’s jetzt seit längerer Zeit nicht mehr verwendet, und unterrichtet hab’ ich’s überhaupt noch nie. Und Geschäftsssprache kann ich sowieso nicht…
Sie: Die zwei sind eh noch nicht so weit…die brauchen hauptsächlich Grammatik. Kann ich Sie für morgen fix einteilen?
Ich: …

So schaut’s aus. Wie hätt’ ich der Frau denn erklären sollen, dass zwischen „Quatschen, Filme schauen und Bücher lesen können“ und „Unterrichten können“ ein sehr, sehr, SEHR großer Unterschied besteht?

Das kann ja überaus heiter werden…Wünscht mir Glück!
